Even though charter schools have been around in the state of Pennsylvania for 13 years, they are still a new concept in the Pottsville area. Gillingham Charter School was the first “brick and mortar” charter school in Schuylkill County and is often mentioned in the press. Guitars Donated to Charter School

Several guitars were donated to the Gillingham Charter School music program at the school’s board meeting Thursday. Displaying the instruments from left to right are Josh Troiani, a 17 year old senior, Jamie Green, a 10 year old fifth grade student, Josh Maley, a 17 year old sophomore, and Nicolle M. Hutchinson, school CEO.
